Clock dial refinishing
Marking out and applying gold leaf
Ready for fitting
Over the past 35 years Hampshire Clock Works have refinished and repaired numerous clocks throughout the region.
Although it is much quicker and also easier to remove the dial and carry out the work in our workshop, some dials cannot be removed, such as slate dials or stone dials with the numerals cut into the stone. For those that cannot be removed we can still carry out the work, gaining access by either using scaffolding or ropes with a Bosun’s chair.
Dials are finished using commercial painting techniques and 24 carat gold leaf on the numerals and hands. It has been proven that these finishes will typically last for a minimum of 25 years and are therefore extremely cost-effective.
Below are example of other dials we have refurbished.
