New Clock for Alresford

On the 30th May 2014 Hampshire Clockworks installed a new clock in Alresford to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the town. Although the clock is new to Alresford, it is a vintage Smiths clock which once adorned a jewellers in Portsmouth and dates from the 1930's. Of course Hampshire Clock Works installed modern reliable motor drive and reworked the drive mechanism, but the case, hands, glass and glass dials are all original.

The clock was officially unveiled by the MP for Winchester and Chandlers Ford and is located  at a prominent site on Alresford High Street.

New clock now being built for the Watercress Line railway
